Acheivements at Pelican

At pelican we are always looking for ways to improve our setting and the service we provide to our families.  This is done by self evaluation and using quality improvement tools to ensure we are using and striving for best practise.

January  We completed the 1st  interim submission of The Bristol Standard which we passed with flying colours.  The Bristol Standard is a self evaluation framework that supports all settings to develop and improve the quality and effectiveness of their provision through an annual cycle of reflection.  It involves a whole team approach with practitioners working together on developments, to improve outcomes for all the children and their families.

February  We were visited by the Food Safety,Standard and Hygiene Agency, where we had to complete critia, and comply with policy and procedures to be awarded grade 5 "VERY GOOD" which is the highest rating.

March  We were awarded the Disability Symbol Employer status for a further 12 months.  The evidence provided and general embracing of the ethos of the symbol continues to meet the criteria of the five commitments.
