Childcare Services

With the needs of parents in mind, we offer a full day care service for children 2 to 5 years. Whatever your childcare needs; we aim to be as flexible as possible to meet your requirements. Opening times are Monday to Friday 0800 to 1800, with sessions from 0900 to 1130 and 1230 to 1500 with lunches from 1130 to 1230. We are open for 48 weeks of the year, closing for bank holidays, the last two weeks of August and December.

Nursery 2-3 year olds

The Nursery is on the ground floor. It comprises of a galley kitchen where snacks and luches are prepared, creative room where children can access messy play, painting area, create and investigate station to inspire the imagingation, this then leads into our home play area where the children can focus on the personal social and emotional development with the interaction and role modelling by staff will support communication and leteracy.  We also have a look and listen room where children can independantly choose a book and sitting in the den area, investigate music and sounds, work on their fine motor skills by choosing puzzels, lacing and a vareity of small construction activities.  There is also a clock room and seperate area for supporting the childs intimate care needs.  This area provides a fun, friendly and welcoming environment for the children to learn. Our ratio of staff to children allows us to offer the best possible support in helping them become self confident and enthusiastic learners.

Learning through play is very important to us, so if your child needs that extra help; then our staff will develop a special programme, working in partnership with you or any outside agency to make sure their every need is met.

Pre-School 3-5 year olds

The Pre-School is situated on the first floor and comprises of 4 large spacious rooms of which two are ajoined.  The first room is our look and listen area, children can access a variety of resources and equipment to support their writing and numeracy skills, colours and shapes, sensory lighting and equipment, musical instruments bottle shakers, lacing and threading, books music, computer and printer.  Our role play room supports the home invironment where children can, with staff support, act out similar home situations with the use of kitchen equipment, home corner, dressing ups and movable units to support childs play and imagination.  Our small world room gives the children opportunities to investigate independantly the drinks station where the children keep their drink bottles and learn to hydrate, the tissue and bin area, to support their personal care, a variety of construction, and housing e.g. zoo, park, house, to support interaction and communication.  The floor area is for large construction, trains and garage play.  We have a "Funky Fingers" table with different inspirational activites to develop skills in co-ordination.  The children each have their own tray for a sense of belonging, to keep their personal items and work gathered from the day.   This room then leads into the Creative room where the child can access a variety of  sensory activities such as  playdough, gloop, cornflour, foam, water, sand, paint and a large section of junk building materials to create from their own imaginations.  These rooms, with the support from the staff will teach the children to become confident learners, preparing them for the next step in their education which will be transfering to school.
